& WINNING WITH THE SHEETS
(latest items are listed first)
- April 26, 2015 - The Sheets make Handicapper's Best Day Ever.
Rick, a Sheets customer, purchased The Sheets for just 3 races on Saturday April 25th. Those Sheets gave him the $14 winner in the Excelsior, the $44 winner in the Miami Mile
that he hit for the win and Exacta and keyed his Sunshine Pick six winning ticket. Congratulations!
- March 13, 2012 - Capping it Off: Adam Wachtel
Ron the Greek's best form began to emerge late last year, with back-to-back stakes victories at Aqueduct and then a close second behind
Mucho Macho Man in the Jan, 28 Florida Sunshine Millions Classic Stakes. Wachtel and trainer Bill Mott decided to step the 5-year-old son
of Full Mandate up in class for the March 3 Santa Anita Handicap (gr. 1) ande he rewarded them with an easy 3 1/2-length victory.
Ron the Greek is a typical example of Wachtel's racing philosophy. Because Wachtel is also a breeder--he keeps eight mares and stands the
stallion One Nice Cat at Keane Stud near Armenia, N.Y.--the veteran horseman tends to buy only horses in the open market.
Wachtel like acquiring runners that have impressive Ragozin numbers, like Ron the Greek did when he finished third behind Hymn Book and
I Want Revenge in the Three Coins Up Stakes at Belmont Park last May.
"On the Ragozin sheets, which is what I use for purchasing and managing horses, he ran a 1 3/4, which is monstrous," Wachtel said.
- September 14, 2011 - Mary "M.C." Brock rides Salsa Mambo to victory in
the fourth race at Belmont.
Mary "M.C." Brock got Salsa Mambo to save ground throughout the run down the backstretch. Then when asked for run down the stretch to go through an opening on the rail,
Salsa Mambo went through and drew off for the victory. Brock, who works as an exercise rider for Gary Contessa, picked out the horse at the April 2011
two-year-olds in training sale at Ocala for Jake Haddad, who is part of the team that creates the Ragozin
Sheets. Haddad paid $35,000 for Salsa Mambo.
Brock has ridden Salsa Mambo in all of her career starts and this was the first start for Salsa Mambo for a maiden claiming tag. For Brock, this was her
first victory since Dec. 19, 2001 at Laurel Park when she won on Jellika, who was owned by Len Friedman,
founder and owner of the Ragozin Sheets.
- October 20, 2010 - Ken Ramsey uses The Sheets when deciding where to run his horses
"My trainer (Wesley Ward) made the mistake recently of saying (Pleasant Prince) is going to the Travers," said Ramsey. "Well, the sheets say he doesn't have the numbers to go
to the Travers, so we're not going to the Travers. Super Saver and A Little Warm are running 2s and 3s on the sheets, and Pleasant Prince is running 5s, 6s and 7s. If he runs
sixth in the Travers, it doesn't do anything for my left hip pocket or the horse's reputation. I can go to the Smarty Jones in Pennsylvania and win $180,000 rather than go to
the Travers and get my brains beat in. The sheets send up a red flag that maybe my trainer is too optimistic. The horse may be kicking down the wall, but he needs to be kicking
down the wall against his kind of horses."
- October 20, 2010 - Trainer Tom Amoss believes in The Sheets
"I've been a trainer for 20 years and have been in this business 35 years," stated Tom Amoss, "and no matter what my naked eye says about what level to run my horses, when
there's a dispute between my view and the view of the Ragozin Sheets, the sheets are always right."
- May 17, 2010 - Sheets player has only winning pick 6 ticket at Belmont on Thursday May 13
"I want to thank everybody at the office. Thanks in a big part to the SHEETS I was able to have the only winning pick 6 ticket this past Thursday at Belmont." - Ilias Katogiritis, VA
- January 20, 2010 - Trainers, owners, jockeys
Trainers, owners and jockeys using the SHEETS had another
strong year in 2009, including the top trainer and jockey in money
earned. Five of the top ten trainers, five of the top ten owners and
two of the top ten jockeys made SHEETS part of their winning
approach. We are always flattered that so many of the most successful
players in our game see that SHEET numbers contribute to their
excellent results year after year.
- November 8, 2009 - Claimer wins BC Mile
Furthest Land, whose 2009 races include a fourth-place finish in the
Claiming Crown Jewel at Canterbury Park, rallied to a win for owner Ken Ramsey under Julien
Leparoux in the $1,000,000 Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile on Saturday.
Ramsey explained, “The breeding was impeccable. The horse was three years old—he was young.
“I used my claiming method primarily from the Rag (Ragozin) sheets. He
had improving Rag sheets numbers. Mike [Maker, the trainer] checked him
out. Said he was clean—clean legs and all that, so we decided to go for
it. And now you know the rest of the story.”
- October 8,2008 - Congratulations to Roger Cettina on his handicapping tournament success

- February 16,2008 - Golden Dawn wins first fraded stakes in Fritchie
“She’s been getting better every race, and she took another step forward,” Hushion said of the four-year-old Hennessy filly, who made her ninth career
start. “Before we got her, her form was a little hidden, but Len Friedman of the
Ragozin Sheets found her for us and said this was a filly that was going to come
around, and they had it right. Her last race was huge and everything pointed to
giving this a try. She trained like a monster.”
- January 18,2008 - Banner year for SHEET users

- September 14, 2007 - Maggie Moss continues to win everything in sight
Maggie Moss just continues to win everything in sight, adding TOBA's 2006 owner
of the year award to her impressive laurels by besting three other finalists
(two of them fellow SHEET users.) Earlier MM had won the National HBPA's
claimer of the year award for the second straight year (as the third of Cort's
P.B. 2006 owners) as he won a $75,000 stake 1st out for MM on opening day at FG

a charm wouldn't surprise us in 2007!
- July 8, 2007 - Cookson wins Calder 2007 Handicapping Summit
Congratulations to Jeff Cookson of Weston, Fla who defeated 116 other contestants to win the July 8th Calder Handicapping Contest.
"Cookson says his secret weapon for handicapping is the use of Len Ragozin's Sheets, a popular retail handicapping product
that assigns performance rating for racehorses."
- January 30, 2007 - Thoroughbred Quotes
"If you can picture being a single woman, still young, still feeling pretty vital about life,
sitting in ... Des Moines, Iowa, doing nothing but [studying] Daily Racing Form, Ragozin Sheets,
TVG, seldom coming out to have dinner or go to a movie or read a book, it strikes me that [having a life]
is something I should be doing now." - Maggie Moss telling the Louisville Courier-Journal how she

Man is the second O'Neill claim in recent years to hit the jackpot (the other
won a 2 million race in Japan), not to mention all the others that have done
mighty well indeed. Now if they could only learn how to reverse the
- May 5, 2005 - Faves can be 'bounced' (from The New York Post, May 5th 2005)
What encourages Frankel is a conviction that the three top choices in the Derby may be vulnerable.
A devotee of the speed sheets published by Len Ragozin, Frankel has studied the charts and concluded that
Bellamy Road, Bandini and Afleet Alex are prime candidates to "bounce" or regress from their last races.
"The Sheets show that they all jumped four points in their last races," he said. "They may already have run their best races.
What happens if they slip a bit and the other horses jump four points on Saturday?" he posed.
- May 2, 2005 - Sis City (from the
"It wasn't me who even picked her out of that claiming race," Dutrow admitted. "I have a [Ragozin] Sheets guy who told me about her. He said that she run's fast and she's bred
to go long, so there was a lot of upside to claiming her for $50,000. Even if she's not as good as we thought, then she's still worth $35,000, so why not
take a shot? Now she's a Grade I winner and a great broodmare prospect."

- June 5, 2004 - Belmont Stakes Notebook (NY Post: 6/5/04)
Sizing up the opposition, Servis said he thinks this is a "very good group"
"one of the biggest tools I use in my training and handicapping is the Ragozin [speed-rating]
he said. "I've compared them to last year's, and I thought this was a much
better crop. With that being said, they seem to be a little erratic [running]
big numbers and then bouncing off that.
"The thing I like so much about my horse is that his numbers have been very steady. He hasn't had one blowout race. Even in the Preakness,
there wasn't a big change. When you get that big change, you worry about the bounce theory."
- May 01, 2004 -

- February 07, 2004 - Eclipse Award winner Jerry Bailey
called Anderson "the best agent I've ever had." "Ron uses the Ragozin
Numbers system better than anyone else," Bailey said. "He can determine
95% of the time when a horse will or will not run his A race. He doesn't
ask me a whole lot to choose between horses, and I like that. It's one of the things I
don't want to get involved in."
- January 02, 2004 - Sheet Trainers, Jockeys lead the way:
